Calix Mabry had everything a vampire could ever want. A mate, eternal life, and enough money to sustain them for the rest of their lives. But when his beloved is taken from him, he vows to bring her back at any cost. Enter Vivienne Peltier. Long legs. Deep red hair. She is everything his Sofia wasn’t. He is drawn to her like a moth to a flame. Torn between his desire to bring Sofia back and his lust for Vivienne, Calix makes a decision that could potentially tear everything and everyone he knows apart. True love always wins in the end. But at what cost?

“Don’t you think it’s time to stop brooding and give this crusade up?”

The voice didn’t startle him. But he was surprised to hear it from the doorway across the room. “What do you want, Quinn?” His voice held no emotion. He wasn’t exactly happy to see her but he wasn’t angry either.
Her footsteps echoed in the large room as she moved closer to him. “I came to see how you are. Can’t a friend stop by to check on another friend without suspicion?”

Calix looked up and sat back in his chair. He was greeted with a plunging neckline that exposed everything from her neck to her navel. She had never been one for modesty. Not even four centuries ago when women weren’t meant to show themselves off.

He raised a brow. “Since when are you my friend, Quinn? I may have turned you but I sure as hell know you only come to me when it suits you.”

The gorgeous redhead laughed, her voice melodic and haunting. “Don’t even start with me. I’ve been there through all of this, Calix. You’re putting yourself through hell and for what? What’s one mortal woman amid the thousands you could choose from?”

Finn Harmon hated the way things were between Vivienne and himself. It used to be good, they spent practically every waking minute together both at work and at either of their houses. Then, it suddenly all fell apart. She left him. And no one leaves him. Ever.

Going into his office, he waved off his secretary before shutting the door. He knew Vivienne
had left the building not long after she kicked him out of her office. Picking up his phone, he made a quick call and grabbed his coat. He knew just where she’d gone.
The drive was relatively quick given the lack of traffic. It wasn’t unusual for them to work late but it had been unusual for Calix Mabry to request the meeting as late in the day as he had. Something was off about the guy. He was a mystery that begged to be solved. And he felt the unrelenting urge to protect Vivienne from the man’s clutches.

Racing through a yellow light, Finn gripped the steering wheel tightly. His thoughts spun around the situation at hand. He had to stay rational to avoid a confrontation. He’d just go get Vivienne and bring her back where she belonged.

Nowadays is difficult to find some authors who write the genre “Paranormal Romance” and “Sci-fi”. What made you enter in the industry with these two genres?

I love reading stories about werewolves and vampires and wanted to delve deeper into my own created worlds. As for sci-fi, I have loved the genre since I was a little girl. It just seemed natural to add my own flare to the genre.

Do you have authors in both genres that you admire?

One of my favorite authors is Laurell K Hamilton. Her Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series is one I go to when I need inspiration or just a good read. Neil Gaiman is another. His American Gods book is AMAZING!

You’re working with many projects at the moment. What you want to bring to your readers and new readers after the release of “Duplicitous”?

My next release is Rhapsody in Red, a sexy look into the lives of a group of vampires and the struggles they face finding love. The release is going to be May 13th!! I’m so excited to bring Calix and Vivienne to the readers!

In “Duplicitous” you work with some essentials elements like darkness, love and paranormal. Do you have plans to work with others elements in the future? If yes, which elements? If not, why?

Yes I do. While I love exploring the darker side of things, I’m heading into a more happily ever after side of things. One project I’m secretly working on is an adult contemporary romance. The other is gothic paranormal romance. I believe in the power of love and hope to bring that element into future books.

Your works make the readers so excited about what’s coming next. Small books. Big stories. Do you have plans to work with big books? About 300 pages or more?

You never know! I have several stories that are turning into big books. I’d love to put out a couple of them where I bring the whole world to light not just one snippet in time.

What means writing to you?

Writing means putting words to paper, typing out my thoughts, plotting and scheming, as well as fine tuning those words. I write because I love creating new characters and new worlds.

You’re indie author, have you ever dreamed with being a author with a good publisher?

I have dreamed of signing with a traditional publisher since I was a young girl...

For fun, let’s make a game. I give you some options or words and then you answer with things that you love!
A movie:  John Wick
A TV series:  Prison Break
A song:  Do I Wanna Know? by Arctic Monkeys
Cinema or Netflix?   Netflix
A book: Tortured Skye by Gwyn McNamee
A love: Keanu Reeves!!!
A quote:  “Embrace the glorious mess that you are” - Elizabeth Gilbert
An actor: Keanu Reeves!!
An actress: Tilda Swinton

An avid reader, single mother, and all around Superwoman, Mila Waters brings her love of creating dark fictional stories to the world.

She is fascinated by gothic horror and the paranormal, bringing both elements into her works. Weird, strange, and a geek, she loves research and has no less than 20 works in progress. Stay tuned. She promises a fun, wild, and sexy ride.
